Despite the myriad of products available for new-born babies and the vast number of companies clambering to convince you that you need everything (including a new kitchin sink) for your baby, there are relatively few items which you desperately need, at least to begin with. Perhaps top of the list is nappies.

It's a suprising statistic for many but newborn babies will probably need changing a dozen times or more a day so you'll have plenty of chance to get some practice in early. It often a major dilema nowaday whether to use diposable or reusable and to add to the conflict of cost and convenience a growing number of parents also consider the environmental impact. Indeed there are a number of companies who produce nappies that donate a percentage of their sale to offset the environmental damage. A simply search of the internet will give you a good idea of which nappies are on offer and any environmental information if required. If you are planning on using disposable though common advice would be to have a few disposable nappies close at hand to keep you going in emergencies.
